This year’s pre Christmas run assembled at Bushy Park on the Clifden road opposite the former Madden’s garden centre. 24 cars gathered on a nice mild morning. Arriving early everyone had time to have a chat and also to greet a couple of new members. We headed on out the Clifden road as far as Maam Cross before turning right towards Maum and then on through Cornamona and into Cong. The scenery proved to be wonderful and was enhanced by the sun shining through and the reflections in the water was fabulous.
On arriving in Cong we parked at Ryan’s hotel where 36 people sat down to a very pleasant lunch. We were also lucky to be able to watch the Ireland – New Zealand rugby game which lent to the atmosphere. Unfortunately Ireland lost with the last kick of the match. However a very enjoyable day was had by all.
