Cullinane Chamois Run 2024
On Sunday March 10th at 11.00am we hosted the 2024 Cullinane Chamois Run for the WVVMC members here at Parsons Garage Tuam. This run is held annually in memory of Mike and Brid Cullinane. It was a bright, fresh, cool morning and thankfully the rain stayed away. It was also Mother’s Day, so we were delighted to see a great turn out and we welcomed lots of Mothers.
We hosted a light brunch in the showroom rather than booking lunch somewhere along the route, we started this format in recent years and have received very positive feedback, so it has been very successful. There were lots of club members and a welcome addition of local people calling in to see the vintage cars and both groups mixed well. We even had two very enthusiastic members of An Garda Siochana on the forecourt for some time enjoying the display.
The committee held our annual collection for Tuam Cancer Care, a cause close to all our hearts, and we raised Euro 600 on the day which is a fantastic amount of money and much appreciated by Tuam Cancer Care. At 1.00pm the group departed in convoy lead by Maurice Burke by the Tuam Bypass and exited onto the R322 towards Kilmaine, Shrule & Headford then members made their way home after that.
It was a pleasure to host the WVVMC and we look forward to the Cullinane Chamois run in 2025.

News in General
The WVVMC membership has nearly 180 enthusiasts from all over the Isle of Ireland, parts of England, Scotland & Wales. In the past we have had trips to the Yorkshire Dales and parts of France, Brittany & Normandy joining up with various local motor clubs. We also support many charity runs throughout the year and some of our members attend their local St Patricks Day Parades. We also attend the Car Fest held at the Galway Racecourse.
Our annual WestRun is very well attended by our members for the weekend, this is a great boost to Galway City. We have had up to 200 cars attend before Covid hit us back in 2020/21 now we have around 100 various Vintage & Classic cars over the weekend, approximately 50 cars are on display through out the Friday afternoon at the Spanish Arch in Galway, then the WestRun itself on the Saturday with nearly 100 cars taking part, we have the run covering either the Western Region Seaboard or the Wild Atlantic Way. The programme arrangements will also be posted here, again keep an eye out for the relevant flyers.
This gives you an idea as to what we do for our members to enjoy the various events & runs that we arrange throughout the year, of course weather permitting for some of our runs in the winter time. You don’t have to be a Vintage or Classic car owner to be a member of the WVVMC. So why not come and join us and be part of a great motor club in the West of Ireland.
Our Annual General Meeting takes place in November, all members and friends are welcome to attend, watch out for the flyer nearer the time.
We will keep you updated on any motoring information as we get it so keep an eye out in this section.
Our WestRun programme arrangements will also be posted here, again keep an eye out for the relevant flyers.
